It was heaven to Celeste to be with her companions in her darkest hour. They took away the doom and gloom feelings she was experiencing. She walked behind Jack and Wolf as the three traveled down the muddy banks of the bay. She chuckled when Wolf tripped Jack; sending him to his doom into the mud. Jack got mad and began to throw mud balls at Wolf. It didn’t take long for Celeste to join in when Jack accidentally hit her with a ball of mud while missing the running canine.
Laughter in the rain was a pure delight to hear as the three of them were covered from head to toe with mud. Many times Celeste had slipped on the slick mud falling on her butt while she threw her mud at her targets. All of three of them were soak, wet and covered with mud when they stopped to catch their breath in the light drizzling rain.
Jack was laughing so hard that Celeste joined in when she took a look at him covered in mud sitting on a large rock. She had to bust out in more laughter when she looked at Jack who had one of her mud balls stuck to his forehead. He was covered from head to toe in dirt, and Celeste was no better! Wolf seemed to be the only one who escape the assault.
“I love you Jack! I am bless to have you in my life old man.” Jack looked at her after she said her loving words. He roared again with laughter, “Well the way you look girl I don’t think no one could love you, but the earth herself.” Celeste smiled showing her pearly whites. Jack cracked up. “Girl your face is covered with mud. All I can see is your damn teeth and eyes.” Celeste giggled like a little girl up to no good, while wolf rolled in the stinky mud.
Celeste and her companions didn’t see the elder lady who was sitting in her sun room drinking tea and watching the three characters play in the rain laughing hysterical. Her husband had to see what his wife was laughing at. It had been ages since he heard her delightful laugh. As he sat with his wife he watched the wicked play of the mud slinging, he too busted up with laughter. He looked at his wife’s smiling lips and could not help but do the same. It has been ages since he felt the joy of laughter in the house. They both sat and giggled as they watch the odd group have a jolly good time playing, and then settled down on the large rocks to catch their breath.
“James it must be freezing out there. Why don’t you go give them some towels my love, and please ask them to join us for a cup of tea?” His wife softly spoke to her husband. James didn’t hesitate, he quickly did her bidding, especially when someone made his wife laugh with this much amusement.
